This morning, I woke up to this message in my Facebook inbox:
Hi Kimber,
I am SO excited to tell you that I am 10 pounds lighter & 13 inches smaller!!! Thank you, thank you for this great gift! I have been wanting (& needing) to lose weight for so long, but always have a hard time getting started. This was just the jump start I needed & I intend to keep on going! ~Jandi
Jandi is one of my connections on Facebook that I had the opportunity to start her on my company’s 9 Day Nutritional Cleansing Pak.
This is the 2nd time this week, that I got that little nudge that I was part of impacting others lives in a big way!
On Tuesday evening I heard a story from another of our client’s that seriously moved me to tears and about 60 others in one of my presentations.
You see, I got to meet Michelle that night. I went to a dinner a little earlier that night and I had no idea who she was or what her story was. The group was a little to large to visit, so we just shook hands and made a little small talk.
About an hour later, she was asked by one of my business partner’s to share her story and I about fell off my chair.
You see, Michelle is a mom of two and had been on life support THREE times and had been given only 1-5 years to live.
She has a condition where the body’s immune system becomes confused and attacks itself. She was on 32 different dr written suggestions, and had seen 30 dr’s.
She spent so much time in the hospital that her kids thought that’s where she lived as they spent most of their time living with their grandparents.
After she started her nutritional cleansing system, she was able to finally sleep through the night, her hair quit falling off, and her lab results tripled!! She has also lost 40 lbs. and she is STILL FULLY ALIVE TODAY!
Now, I can’t say that Nutritional Cleansing cured anything but I do know that when you feed the body properly and rid the toxins, it is the Miracle and can do what God intended it to do!
Michelle was able to do this without harsh stimulants or unknown ingredients or programs. This is tested and all natural and has produced results for 8 years—1000’s of stories!
Now, stories like Michelle’s and emails like Jandi’s is why I do what I do!
If you aren’t doing something you are passionate about, why?
And if you want to do join me, I’m seriously looking for a few others to help coach, train and mentor so you can also wake up ready to hit the floor running with passion and excitement every day too!
Here’s just some pictures that are amazing!
So, everyday I use healthy products that help to rebuild and restore my body, hopefully so I can stay YOUNG forever!
Now that I am in my 40’s, nutrition, skincare, exercise is increasingly become important to me.
Dang! I’m no longer a girl that can just eat, drink and be merry without the consequences.
About 8 years ago, I was introduced to a line of “nutritional cleansing” products that I frankly thought was a scam. This was the era of the whole “fen fen” scare and rapid weight loss gimmiks and even risky weight loss diets.
So I had heard some crazy stories of quick weight loss as a side benefit of removing toxins from the body, but I thought it had to be all water weight, a quick fix, etc….and I was highly skeptical.
But I won’t lie, I had been trying to get rid of those last 5-10 “sticky” pounds for a long time after my 3rd son was born. With my two first sons, I easily bounced back to my pre-pregnancy weight. But after my last one, I just found it a little bit harder.
Now many thought I was crazy because “in clothes” I looked as good as I had ever looked. But ladies, you know how you feel under those clothes sometimes and the thought of actually putting on a bikini is alarming—that’s where I was…no hiding anything in a bikini!
So I decided to try the Cleansing System, not expecting AT ALL what would happen.
In my first 9 days, I released 10 lbs., 11 inches and 2% Body Fat. Now I had been doing the “Body for Life” program and going to spin or the gym 3 to 4 times per week with NO BUDGE before that.
So it was totally the JUMP START I needed not only physically, but mentally and emotionally too.
You see for the first time in my life, I do believe I started to battle depression. After 9/11, I started feeling so hopeless and scared and it really affected me to a deeper level that I can’t even explain to you. It was almost as if I lived near Ground Zero or had someone personally affected. I didn’t but I felt like I couldn’t do anything and went into really an irrational fear about my kid’s future and I just couldn’t understand how other people could just move on and start laughing again and going on with their lives when over 3000 were just wiped out in an instant.
So for the first time in my life, I began eating not so healthy things and drinking SODA (which I had really never done in the past).
I think that although I was trying to counteract it all with going to the gym, my bad eating habits and slight depression was winning–my mind was just not at all in a good place. I wanted to make a difference somehow but I didn’t know how and I felt worthless and hopeless.
So after I was introduced to this system and got those results I mentioned above, along with feeling 18 again energy wise, some small health challenges were gone, I felt alive and excited-–I knew that God had brought me a vehicle that I could get involved in to help others who felt like me–hopeless and discouraged and just basically getting by and living a life of mediocrity.
Over the past 8 years, I have been able to help coach 100s of others to reach their ideal health, weight and even life goals!
What a blessing was in that little brown box I found on my doorstep 8 years ago! Who knew that little box could hold such treasures!
Anyway, the idea of “cleansing” has now gained attention by the media, health professionals, athletes and celebrities after we introduced this system to others.
But this is not like the “cleanses” out there (if you want to know why or how….too much to post, you’ll have to get hold of me).
But the idea of cleansing your body is similar to the reason you go and have your oil changed in your car or you change the filters in your vacuum or heating system.
Toxins and “stuff” clogs the pipes and you need to cleanse it out every now and then.
What would happen if you didn’t get an oil change? What would happen if you never brushed your teeth? What would happen if you never changed the bag in your vacuum?
Catch the drift!
Now here’s the confession, I haven’t had my full “oil change” since early October. I have been so busy coaching others, doing life, cranking up my business…that I kind of put myself on the “back burner” again.
I do take these healthy products everyday for maintenance but it’s time for a full overhaul again.
So I’m on Day 1 of my 9 day system and I want to be transparent in all this.
So I’m going to update this Post during my 9 days, so if you want to follow me, just check back here. I’m going to be as honest as I can during the journey, since it’s been a while.
It’s good for the coach to get back to the basics sometimes too so they can relate to the rest of the players!
And I may even need some encouragement along the way too, so I would love some replies below! I thank you in advance for that.
If anyone wants to join me in the next 9 days, please let me know or if you want to get started in the near future, I’d love to help you!
DAY 1
9am – I started my day with a yummy “healthy dark chocolate” (that makes me feel like I’m cheating). I just had my first cleanse drink (4 oz) with 8 oz. of water. I also had a “scooby snack” (that’s what I call them). I’m feeling way excited as I know that in the morning, I am going to have that lean and clean feeling all over again!
I weighed myself and yes…I have some “sticky” pounds to release again! Dang! Summer and life’s busy adventures have taken its toll on me too! I can’t wait to feel a little more “bikini ready” as the summer is almost gone!
12Noon – I just had my 2nd cleanse drink and also a bite of Healthy chocolate. Time is going by fast today and so far so good… my hubby called and wanted to do dinner and a movie tonight though, so movie YES–but no buttered popcorn — dang! LOL
CHECK BACK HERE LATER FOR MORE UPDATES
Recently my family took a trip to the beautiful red rock country of Moab, Utah. If you have never been there or never even heard of it, you are missing out!
Moab is the home of “Arches National Park” and “CanyonLands.” Many of you have seen it’s beautiful landscape and arches on postcards, movie backdrops (remember Tom Cruise hanging from that cliff taking his next assignment)?
Anyway, you really need to add it to your “bucket list” as a must see once in your lifetime!
People come from all over the world and it was fun seeing how many tourists have invaded that small town (even in a down economy).
Some of our favorites places are:
- Slick Rock Cafe – for good food & music and make sure to ask for Lynell
- “Naked Hippy Falls” – we just found this treasure and we’ve been there many times. It’s a short hike to an amazing pool and waterfall!
- Arches – “Delicate Arch” is the most famous and breathtaking!
- Slick Rock Bike Trail – one of the most famous biking trails in the world!
- Negro Bill’s Canyon – beautiful hike through shade and steep canyons!
- “Boy Heaven” – that’s what we call it. It’s a giant hill of red sand that the boys just slide down (many take sleds).
There’s just so much to do there. We didn’t even have a chance to do all the “touristy” types of activities like rafting, jeep tours, etc. (we are more of a do it ourselves type of family) but if you like tours…there’s tons available.
Anyway, we have hiked Delicate Arch 3-4 times. The last time we hiked it was when our kids were a lot younger, 6, 4 and 2.
The hike there is probably about 2 1/2 miles uphill over some groomed trails but mainly up steep red rock. There is very little shade and no water. What you pack in to drink is all you have.
If you are going to do it, leave early in the morning (especially in the summer months). By 9am, we were already feeling the heat.
The first time we hiked it with the kids, near the top it gets very narrow and you are up against cliff on one side and some pretty dramatic drops on the other. We laughed as we remember how that time, we put a rope around Walker’s waist (only 2 at the time). This time, he was better aware of his surroundings and not so anxious to run around the hillside like he did as a toddler.
Anyway…it’s still a very long hike for younger kids. 2 of my sons, took off ahead of us (we call them the “goats)…they are just built to climb.
Walker, Stew and I just made our way up. Walker was getting pretty worn out and I had been trying to keep him positively motivated on the way up (we played some counting games, sang some songs, etc.) But he had just about had it.
I was a little winded myself but I knew what lied ahead and it’s so beautiful, I knew a little hard work was worth it.
As we were just at the top of another large hill, there was just a tiny bit of shade, so we all took a rest.
A couple passed us coming back from the arch and said to us, “You’re just 3 minutes away and it’s absolutely beautiful!”
That was it!
Walker was motivated again and surprisingly, so was I. Even though I knew it wasn’t far, the fact that they were encouraging me (and especially my son) was so great!
I thought how so many times in life and in our business, we are so close to the beautiful “ARCH” just around the corner but just can’t see it or how far we have come until someone gives us a little encouragement.
Sometimes others can see how close we are as we are still blinded by all the obstacles and challenges before us.
I was so appreciative of those encouraging words that on our way back, I said to Walker, “okay…now look…here’s some other kids about your age that look tired and so let’s tell them how close they are and how worth it is to get to the top.”
So he started encouraging others on our way back. What a great kid!
How often do we encourage others in our lives, our businesses, our team?
Can you see greatness in someone else that they can’t see themselves? Can you see how far they have come when they can’t?
This week, I challenge you to tell someone that they are “only just 3 minutes away!”
Let me know what happens or if someone has ever encouraged you or helped you make it to the top of something you were trying to reach!
I’d love to hear your comments!
Just wanted to pass along a few books that I am or will be reading over the next month or so.
I am about 1/2 way through this short but thought provoking book. Dr. Henry Cloud has a unique way of looking at things and the chapter on “Hate” really had my mind bending at first but then really helped me through a few things I had been struggling with.
The next book is by Rich Marshall called, “God@Work.” If you have wondered how your Faith plays a role in your business and how business plays part in your Faith, this book might be for you.
It’s been on my To Read list for several years. I actually bought it once and lent it to one of my business partners back then and I think she must have loved it so much that I never saw it again
This book was initially brought to my attention by my Mentor. It had a huge impact on her outlook towards the purpose she had been called to.
Lastly, I am reading Laurie Beth Jones, The Four Elements of Success: A Simple Personality Profile that will Transform Your Team.
One of my all time favorite books on leadership, is by this author, “Teach Your Team to Fish.”
This book was suggested to me by one of my peers in the home business industry that I have high regards for, Sue Seward.
We both have studied the “gems” that Dani Johnson teaches and Sue got me excited about this book to take it a step farther.
I know that learning the personalities and languages of my team members and even my family and friends has helped me so much better communicate with them and respect just how they are “wired” and not try to change them but just adjust how I speak and react to them.
Happy Reading!
P.S. I would love to hear what’s on your Summer Reading List in the “COMMENTS!”
So, I am taking the New Testament Challenge with a group of individuals online.
It’s designed to help us read the New Testament, starting with the Book of John in chronological order in just 6 months.
If anyone wants to join us, visit www.301.alpinechurch.org
This is the 2nd time I am reading the New Testament fully and in depth. I study the verses and chapters all the time, but I am excited to read it fully once again.
It’s so sad to say but I first read the Bible just a couple of years ago. I couldn’t believe after reading it that it was there in front of me the whole time. I had been reading and studying from all types of books and authors and THERE IT WAS!
I believe to be the greatest success book written of all time for EVERYTHING in our life and even business!
I had attempted to read it several times in my life but after I got into all the “so and so begot so and so,” it just lost me and went way over my head.
It wasn’t until I had the chance to hear one of my business mentors sharing the stories of the Bible that the desire to read God’s Word really sank in.
Some of the stories she taught were actual business success principles and it made me think, “What? that’s really in the Bible?” I HAD NO IDEA that the Bible was so full of great dramas, tragedies, triumphs, inspiration, guidance, etc.
No wonder this book is kind of popular
DUH!!!
Anyway…I also found out that there were different Bibles that were a little easier to understand. A couple of my favorites are the NIV and The Message.
These just seemed to help my little brain understand more fully what was going on in language that made sense to me.
And now it’s great to go back and read it again in the beautiful version I was familiar with growing up, The King James version. I get it now!
I really challenge any of my friends who haven’t been able to get through the Bible to pick up one of these versions and start with the Book of John. Then after you see the beautiful picture of Jesus and his life, you can go back and hear what led him to that very moment of time!
Anyway, currently in my reading, I have just finished the Book of John.
I loved the Book of John because its written by one of his closest associates and we get to see not only the miracles Jesus he performed while he was here but also see more of his personality.
Until I read the Bible, I had this image of Jesus in my head of “peace and love– some kind of hippy guy” (which is fully Him–without the hippiness part) … But I had no idea that He also felt anger and went into the Temple and turned over tables disgusted at the Pharisees (religious leaders) for disgracing God’s house as a marketplace.
This was some exciting and intriguing stuff…not to mention the Book was full of murderers, wars, adulterers, sinners who became Kings and used for His glory… for those of you that enjoy a great romance or adventure novel…hello…IT’s in HERE!
I have NEVER been a “journal-er” but I was given a beautiful leather journal by my company about a week before I started this, so I have been journal-ing my thoughts and questions as I read and I can’t tell you what a difference this has made in my reading. I encourage any of you that start out on this journey to keep a journal.
Some of the thoughts or insights I wrote down during my journal-ing the book of John:
- Jesus Christ is the only one who can save us. We can’t do that and we can’t do it for each other or through Good Works (“But we are all like an unclean thing, and all of our righteousness are like filthy rags”) ~Isaiah 64:6
- He will NEVER share His glory with another! There is so much idolatry running rampant in our lives. We worship teachers, church officials, sports figures, celebrities, rock stars, politicians. At the end of the day, they will ALL disappoint us if we put our faith in them. We cannot put anyone above HIM! We must not give anyone the glory for our triumphs and success but Him. Listen to those around you and who they emphasize in their lives…who do they idolize? I’m not saying we shouldn’t respect and look up to others who do great things but just make sure who is above them all!
- Jesus chose the ordinary to work with. He chose 12 ordinary men (fishermen, tax collectors, etc). to be his disciples. He didn’t chose the pharisees or those that were doing good works or religious duties. This was such a powerful thing for me to read that even applied to my business. One of my mentors years ago taught me that it was “always in the New.” In my industry, many leaders stop working with new people and instead work with others who already think they know it all or are no longer hungry and willing to learn more. Jesus chose His 12 because they were eager and willing to be obedient to him and be open to His teachings. The religious leaders were closed and stubborn. They thought they knew it all and because of it, they missed out on the greatest thing to ever happen in history because they were looking for someone else.
- Don’t spend time on perishable things but spend energy on seeking eternal life. This world will melt away. It’s not a cliche that when someone is on their death bed, all the $$ and things they have gathered are not what’s on their mind, but its their family and relationships. Recently watching rock star, Bret Michael get a 2nd chance in life really proved this. He was not worried about his lavish lifestyle but his 2 daughters and his friends. All of that stuff will melt away so spend your energy on things that will matter—if those things come along, that’s great but don’t set it above what really matters!
- Jesus knew that Judas would betray him, yet he still washed his feet! Okay…this one is hard for me to swallow. Jesus served His enemies. After Jesus came, there really are only 2 things God asks of us and that is to Love Him with all of our might and to love one another–all the rest is there to teach us and help us create more joy in our lives and save us from heartache but these 2 things Jesus did command us to do. And it seems that loving one another (and our enemies) is not always the easiest thing to do. To NOT commit murder, most of us will never have much of a problem with that but to love one another like Jesus did…I think this is all of our biggest test!
- There were so many disbelievers of Jesus even as they witnessed first hand His great miracles. Their religiosity kept them from seeing the One who was right in front of them. They were looking for someone who followed all the “rules” and looked like them. Yet Jesus walked amongst the poor, the ill, the broken heart-ed—THE SINNERS! And I have no doubt that were He here today, He would not be sitting in our shiny, pretty buildings but He would be out walking in the gutters, amongst the poor, with the sick and yes, even in the bars (oh did I say that?) He would not be sitting amongst those that don’t need him or think they don’t… He would be with those that need a Savior. That’s really where we should be too…not just looking our best on Sunday mornings, checking church off our list.
- Jesus wept. I LOVE THIS VERSE. This shows that Jesus knows how we feel. Jesus felt empathy for Mary and Martha when Lazarus died. He has a compassionate heart and I know (that like a mom) He hurts, when we are hurting. He knows what we are going through and feels what we are feeling. You have someone who cares with you always! If you feel all alone, you’re not. You have at least one person above all that loves you!
- It is much easier for us to fear man, than to fear God. The reason is that we are focusing on temporal things and not eternal things. Some of the Pharisees actually believed who Jesus was but they were more fearful of being expelled or excommunicated than they were fearful of God. They LOVED human praise (because of their good works) more than the praise of God! Wow!..how this is still very true today.
- Pay attention to my own work and not compare to anyone else (Galatians 6:4) … not sure what stirred this up in my reading but it was very powerful for me to learn in life and in my business.
- After Jesus ascended, we were left with our very own advocate, the Holy Spirit! He is our gift for peace of mind and heart. I know I need to be way better at relying on the Holy Spirit as He resides in me. What a great loving Father we have to not leave us behind but to find a way to dwell with us always.
There’s some thoughts from John!
Okay….bring on ACTS!
